The Guides

Lina Laurent, freelance journalist and entrepreneur.

"Wherever I travel I pack my jogging shoes with me. Running is the best way to get to know a new place, especially if you don't have so much time.

I grew up in Helsinki and Tampere. I studied journalism and pedagogy in Helsinki, intercultural communication in Jyväskylä and documentary filming Valparaíso (Chile). Today I work and live in Helsinki. I work mainly with journalism and communication through my company Vintermedia. I like to talk about current issues in society, for example education, politicts, poverty and sports.

My favorite jogging tours in Helsinki combine nature and city-life. I like jogging at the shores of the Lauttasaari island, around Kaivopuisto and Katajanokka and at the slopes close to the Linnanmäki amusement park in Kallio. Trail running is fun and I also offer trail running tours in nearby forrests.

Hobbies? I bicycle everywhere. I play icehockey, basketball and enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter. At our summer house in Kuru we have bees, chicken and sheep."
